How To Find a Wi. Fi Hotspot Using Facebook. If you’re away from home and in need of Wi. Fi, now Facebook can help you find it. Originally only available in a few countries, the social network’s “Find Wi. Fi” feature is now available around the world.

With it you can locate available hotspots and nearby businesses, so you can quickly find a spot near you. The feature works by using information that businesses have added to their business pages, so it’s not going to pull up every business near you that might have Wi. Fi available, just those that are on Facebook.

That said, it could still be pretty useful. Here’s how to make the magic happen: Open the Facebook app and then click the “More” tab. Select “Find Wi. Fi” from the list of available options. You might be prompted to turn the feature on. If you can’t find the “More” tab, then you may find the feature nested under the “Apps” section. Results are originally presented as a list, but you can click on the Map button at the top right- hand side of the page to see things on a map as well.

I travel a ton and have traditionally used Yelp to find open Wi. Fi near me. That works really well in the United States, but can be garbage abroad in places where people don’t use Yelp as much. To find Wi. Fi on Yelp, perform a search for the type of business you’d like to transform into your home office for a few hours and then tap the filter button in the search bar to narrow down the selections to just those locations that have Wi. Fi available. Depending on where you are, one of the two should get the job done.
